Trip 12 - Costs for motorhome tour of UK, Spain and Portugal

Travel dates: 7th November 2021 to 28th February 2022


These are our costs for our third motorhome trip, this time to Spain and Portugal with a short tour in the UK prior to catching the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander.

Here's our trip costs:

Overall total cost to date: £5,967.50 (including insurance). Average daily cost: £52.81 (113 days) 

Distance travelled since leaving The Midlands, UK on 7tb: November  3300 miles 
Litres of diesel purchased: 682
Average fuel consumption:  22.0mpg 
Average fuel cost/litre: £1.25

Travel insurance (2 people): We arranged European insurance through 'Big Cat', underwritten by AWP P&C SA, part of Allianz Group, single trip policy and took the 'Activity Pack' option as this covered us for a multitude of activities such as rock climbing, gorge walking, via ferrata, mountaineering up to 3000m and mountain biking (plus a host of other activities that we probably won't do). Cost: £378.73 for 93 days.
