Well what can I say......... what a lovely couple. From the minute we met Jackie &
Brian we got on like a house on fire! They were good enough to come over to
meet me, Keith, Cookie & Cracker before they came to sit, so that we could
show them what's what & have a good chat over lunch.
The day we left, Brian was doing The Highland Walk in Scotland, so we didn't
see him. Jackie offered to come over early enough in the morning to walk the
boys, so that we could do our last minute packing & get to the airport even
earlier because of the queues, which was really thoughtful of her.
We were completely comfortable with leaving the boys in their capable hands
- after all, they have done about 80 house sits!! They are a very relaxed couple
but also very well organised & asked all the appropriate questions, which put
us at ease. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble - even watering my little
seedlings! They weren't in the slightest bit daunted by 'The Welcome Pack'
which THS requested us to put together & I have to say it felt like a book
which I had to write!
While we were away Jackie sent pictures over showing us how the boys
were enjoying life without us, their mega walks, cuddles on the couch &
snoozing on their bed in the morning!
Before we came home (in the middle of the night) Jackie asked us what we
would like for breakfast. Then when we got up Jackie warmed some pain
au chocolat & Brian chopped up some lovely fruit for us all to have breakfast
together, which we really appreciated.
Not only that but they took Cookie & Cracker out for a walk after breakfast,
to let us come back down to earth! Jackie & Brian were so very thoughtful
which all of us were very grateful for.
The grass was mowed, the plants were watered, the fish were fed & the
wild birds were also fed & the seedlings survived - I'm still not sure if they
would have been if I was looking after them! Everything was done...........
A huge thank you to Jackie & Brian from all of us - we cannot recommend
them enough. Keith & I, as well as Cookie & Cracker are hoping that we
can all get together again soon.
